About the Principal
Timothy L. Jenkins has been the principal of Camden Big Picture Learning Academy (formerly MetEast) since 2005. A native of the City of Camden, he was born and raised in the Centerville section and educated in its public school system. He is well vested in the community he serves and takes each students' education personally.
Principal Jenkins is committed to ensuring Camden’s families have access to high-quality educational options where students thrive and are prepared to compete in the global market. In fact, CBPLA was recognized as a Deeper Learning School by the Hewlett Foundation.
With Mr. Jenkins at the helm, Camden Big Picture Learning Academy will continue to be an integral part of Camden’s educational renaissance; innovative in its trends as the educators go above and beyond to help students soar. With its commitment to ensure students graduate at the City's highest rates and continue to pursue post-secondary education, Mr. Jenkins and his team regularly meets with educators throughout the world to exchange best practices.
Principal Jenkins is a lifelong learner. He received both his Bachelor and Master’s degrees from Rutgers University-New Brunswick and his principal certification from the University of Pennsylvania.
