About the Principal
Sharon K. Woodridge is the principal of the Dr. Henry H. Davis Family School in East Camden. The school was built in 1925 and named after Dr. Henry Hill Davis, a Camden physician who was a member of the school board and Camden’s first medical inspector whose work saved the lives of many young children in Camden. The school serves students in grades Pre-Kindergarten to eight and provides supportive and challenging academic opportunities for students to grow and learn.
Previously, Ms. Woodridge was co-principal at Camden High School. She was principal at Davis Family before serving as director of secondary curriculum instruction. Ms. Woodridge was also a vice principal at Camden High School, and vice principal at Henry L. Bonsall Family School. She began her career in the district as a family and consumer sciences teacher at Cooper B. Hatch Middle School.
Prior to her time in Camden, Ms. Woodridge worked in Lawnside, New Jersey, Chester, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed working at various schools, as the director of a summer camp, and a reentry specialist preparing women to return to the workforce.
Principal Woodridge has a bachelor’s of science from Cheyney University and a master’s from Temple University. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she is the parent of one son and has two grandchildren.
