Meet our Assistant Principal
Naima Duncan is the Assistant Principal of Riletta Twyne Cream School and began serving Camden City school district since 2017. She began her career in 1996 in Montclair and Newark, NJ as a Head Start preschool teacher before becoming an administrator in West New York and Union City, NJ. Dr. Duncan worked as Education Supervisor with Head Start, an Early Childhood Education Director for Urban League and an Adjunct Professor and Instructor with Fairleigh Dickinson Unversity teaching required Graduate coursework for the Preschool-Third Grade endorsement ranging from Curriculum and Assessment to Family & Community and specializing in early childhood development, mentoring new teachers and providing professional development training to teachers throughout the United States and Beijing, China before becoming Assistant Principal at Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) and R.T. Cream Early Childhood Center. She has over 25 years of experience in the education field providing and modeling quality instruction, development of curriculum and upholding high expectations and rigor to academic programs.
Dr. Duncan received a bachelor’s degree in English and Early Childhood Education from Montclair State University, a master’s and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from College of Saint Elizabeth with a research focus on preschool children, challenging behaviors and Kindergarten readiness.
Dr. Duncan was born in Seattle, Washington and raised since 2 years old in Newark, NJ, graduating from Arts High School as a Theatre major. She has two sons and one daughter, each in high school or entering into college and currently resides in North Jersey.
