Meet the Principal, Nicole Harrigan-Nash
Ms. Harrigan is a proud single mom who is also a passionate, caring principal who truly has a heart for the youth in Camden.
She believes in fostering an atmosphere of peace as she ensures that the youth are trained in conflict resolution techniques and anger management training, as she encourages the establishment of principles of character that will last throughout their lifetime. This is also to ensure a safe environment for the scholars. Ms. Harrigan partners with the community and families to work towards enhancing the lives of the scholars and engaging them in numerous activities to encourage their involvement while providing training that will enhance their emotional, social and academic skills so that they can continue to build stronger partnerships while reaching their fullest academic and social potential.
Additionally, she believes in setting high expectations for students and believes that all students can learn and they all have a right to a nurturing, safe environment, use of data to inform instruction, and consistent implementation of newly adopted instructional strategies to increase our scholars’ achievement, and continuously provide exciting and challenging enrichment opportunities for our scholars.
It is Ms. Harrigan’s goal to provide the scholars of HB Wilson with the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world-class, college/career-ready citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school.
Ms. Harrigan comes to HB Wilson with a wealth of experience and educational enrichment which includes: a Master’s in Educational Administration, Master’s in Special Education, Principal’s certification, and Supervisor’s Certification. She is experienced for the Camden Board of Education as a Special Education teacher for 16 years, a Literacy Coach for 9 years, and a Vice Principal, a Teacher/Coach Evaluator, Lead Educator, and Principal of various schools in Camden, which most recently includes: Sumner Elementary school. She also has past careers as a Social Worker, Foster Parent Supervisor, Mobile Family Therapist, and Counselor.
