Rules of Decorum for Board Meetings
The Camden City School District values input from the public and is committed to conducting fair, orderly, and efficient board meetings. To ensure a respectful and productive environment for all, please adhere to the following guidelines during the meeting:
Conduct During the Meeting
In accordance with District Bylaw 0167, Subparagraph F, the Superintendent has the authority to maintain decorum during the meeting by:
- Interrupting, warning, or ending a participant's statement if it is overly lengthy, personally directed, abrasive, obscene, or irrelevant.
- Requesting that any individual who fails to observe reasonable decorum leave the meeting.
- Seeking the assistance of law enforcement officers to remove a disorderly person whose actions interfere with the orderly progress of the meeting.
- Calling for a recess or adjourning the meeting to another time if public behavior disrupts the orderly conduct of the meeting.
Public Comment Guidelines
- Sign-up in Advance: Individuals who wish to comment must sign up prior to the meeting. The sign-up sheet will be available from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., just before the start of the meeting.
- Speaking Order: Commenters will be called to speak in the order they signed up.
- Time Limit: Each speaker is allotted a maximum of 3 minutes to make their comment.
