About the Principal

Welcome to Tiger Nation!
My name is Gloria Martinez-Vega, and I am the Principal of Eastside High (WWHS). I began my career in the Camden City School District, at Woodrow Wilson High School. After 18 years of previously serving the East Camden school community, it is my honor to return to a full circle as your Principal.
Our goal at Eastside High is to work closely with parents to build a trusting, cooperative and collaborative relationship so that together, we can nurture each scholar toward his or her intellectual, emotional, and physical potential. Our intention is to provide a safe and secure learning environment where the dedicated staff of Eastside High can proceed with the primary function of our school, a College and Career Readiness path for all our scholars.
Scholars will be held to high standards, both behaviorally and academically. Each scholar will be successful with our guidance, along with parental support and assistance.
At Eastside High, we offer College and Career opportunities. We have partnerships with Higher Institutions such as Rutgers and Rowan University where our scholars have the opportunity to gain college course credits and with the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (CCap). We also offer our scholars the choice of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs such as Automotive, Cosmetology, Hotel Management, and Restaurant, Computer-Aided Designs Drafting (CAD), Graphic Arts, and Business Education. CTE programs put an emphasis on career readiness, and they teach important employability skills that are currently in high demand. Eastside High, previously known as Woodrow Wilson High School, was opened in 1930 as a junior high school and converted to a High School in 1933. Eastside High is 70%
